Most magic programs are not designed to be progressive. Students learn tricks, but never advance.
Each session with School of Magic Arts ends with a performance that has a clear objective. Our students are proud of the pins they have earned as they grow in our program.
Our one-on-one lesson is for young magicians who are curious about how School of Magic Arts works. We welcome students of all levels because magic is actually 90% acting.
In this 30-minute Zoom lesson your young magician will meet a Head Magician at our school. They will chat about magic, their interests outside of magic, and get to know us and our school a little. Then we will take them through a normal class at SOMA starting with rules, props check, and stretches.
Next they will learn how to teleport a rubber band through their fingers. Our magicians take their time with this part of the class to ensure they are successful.
Finally, we talk about the 8 types of magic and learn how to make a quarter appear from our fingertips.
If your kid loves magic, our school is where they belong. School of Magic Arts has been teaching kids magic since 2017 and has students in more than 100 cities across the U.S.
"I loved getting to share my magic with a big audience, and watch my fellow students perform their effects too!"
"My child came out of the class energized and excited to learn magic. the tricks were accessible and the instructor was engaging."
“The instructors were fun, personable, and engaging. They made the children immediately feel welcome and exciting.”
Our fall session of Fundamentals of Magic runs from September 11, 2023 - December 23, 2023. Students will meet once a week in one hour classes to learn the basics of close-up magic performance. New students can join classes in progress until October 20, 2023.
Fundamentals of Magic is geared towards those students who want to truly study stage magic and perform it, too! In fun after-school classes with a live instructor, students learn the building blocks of magic effects and the secrets of successful routines, collaborate with their peers, and increase their confidence.
As they level up in the curriculum, they will start to perform in live shows, unlock special workshops, and earn special enamel pins!
The SOMA Fundamentals of Magic curriculum was designed by two professional magicians who are also trained educators. It is engineered to effectively teach the core concepts of stage magic, storytelling, and performance skills.
