Magic School students receive the SOMA Magician's Kit, a professionally curated supply kit that will be shipped directly to your home. At SOMA, we teach real stage magic, which means our kits are not toys. We provide the same tools that professional magicians use in their stage shows, and we teach students how to use those tools effectively.
At School of Magic Arts, we empower our students by providing tangible evidence of their successes. In Magic School, as they move up, they receive pins that designate their SOMA level, which many wear in class and performance. Our leveling structure supports our students by giving them a strong base in stage magic education to explore their individual interests.
At School of Magic Arts, we believe the best way to learn magic is to perform it! We give our Magic School students the opportunity to perform multiple times a year in public shows, for live audiences. In choosing their effects, developing their routines, and working with their peers, students gain invaluable performance skills and become aware of their place on our team in and in our community.

SOMA classes are structured for a consistent learning experience. In each class, students will:
check-in, warmups, core monthly concept re-enforced.
effect introduced, demonstrated, and taught.
guided practice, receive instructor/peer feedback.
perform effect individually, work on presentation skills.
In their first year in Magic Performance Program, students will begin leveling up after their first month. First year is all about a comprehensive overview of magic as an art form, encompassing the basics of palming, forcing, storytelling, routine building, switching, and memorization. Students will begin to handle coins, cards, silks, and props in their classes and, after their third month with the program, will begin performing in SOMA magic shows in front of audiences.
In year two, Magic Performance Program students will refine the skills they learned in year one and tackle harder effects and sequences with more challenging props as they build their magician's kit. They will also deeply focus on the performance skills necessary to create interesting individual routines, and work on developing a style all their own. Year two also brings a focus on peer feedback and community building, with time in each class devoted to critique and review.
In their third year in Magic Performance Program, students begin to specialize in a branch of magic that interests them, including mentalism, coins, cards, or large stage effects. They are encouraged to work within their track to explore its possibilities, while at the same time continuing to further skills in stage magic performance as a whole.
