Fundamentals of Magic Private

Our Fall session runs from Sep 24 - Dec 17, 2024. Students will meet once a week in thirty minute classes to learn the basics of close-up magic performance.

As they level up in the curriculum, they will start to perform in live shows, unlock special workshops, and earn special enamel pins!

The SOMA Fundamentals of Magic curriculum was designed by two professional magicians who are also trained educators. It is engineered to effectively teach the core concepts of stage magic, storytelling, and performance skills.

Difficulty Level
Beginner, Ages 8-12
Prerequisite
An interest in magic. They have watched it on TV or YouTube, maybe they have tried to perform a trick or two.

Build Self esteem and confidence

Studies have found that all students (including those with learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities) exhibit greater self-esteem scores after studying and performing magic.

improve hand eye coordination

In a study of forty people learning magic, all showed significant improvement in both the use of the left and right hands, and their ability to use both hands together.

grow with support of a community

Teachers report that incorporating magic into their curriculum encourages students to help one another, and increases leadership, socialization, peer relationships, and collaboration.
